GLOBAL^® STEPTECH^® Anchor Peg Glenoid

The GLOBAL^® STEPTECH^® APG builds on the clinical history of the GLOBAL^® Anchor Peg Glenoid by incorporating advanced design elements, and PREMIERON^® X-Linked Polyethylene implant material to create a technologically advanced glenoid implant.


 

DePuy Orthopaedics glenoid products have been designed with a constant 6mm diametric mismatch between the glenoid and the humeral head component which:

• • Emulates anatomic biomechanics of a healthy shoulder
• • Optimizes load transfer
• • Promotes a more natural range of motion

• The GLOBAL^® STEPTECH^® APG implants may potentially:


• • Minimize the need for glenoid bone graft to correct asymmetrical wear
• • Reduce the surgical time needed to prepare a glenoid bone graft
• • Reduce the extent of the high side reaming, and the resulting loss of
    healthy bone and joint medialization

PREMIERON^® X-Linked Polyethylene for the shoulder balances wear reduction and mechanical integrity while maintaining oxidative stability. PREMIERON has demonstrated an 85% reduction in wear debris over conventionally manufactured and sterilized components.¹ In shoulder simulator testing, the GLOBAL^® Anchor Peg Glenoid with PREMIERON significantly lowered the calculated osteolytic potential, and thus the risk of aseptic loosening.¹
